Take a seat,
Let me tell you a tale,
That may take up space in your mind,
Something that may terrify you.
There once was a girl,
A small little thing.
She lived in a house with,
The usual creaks and sounds.
One day those sounds changed,
The goblins and ghouls started coming out to play,
The little girl became scared,
every night became a nightmare.
Except, every time the girl opened her eyes,
The monsters would still be there laughing at her.
When daylight came and brightened the room,
The creatures of the night stayed away;
Until darkness fell to bring the nightmares to life.
The monster under the bed would come out to play,
While the ghosts in the closet joined in,
The witches would cackle outside the windows.
As the girl screamed in horror at the sights.
Her parents were kept awake by her screams,
Until one night…
Her screams were silent, and no sound came from her room.
Now parents and guardians, heed my warning;
Take care to keep an eye on your child,
For you never know when there is a real danger.
Where the monster is not a creature of mystery,
But a monster in disguise as you and me.
People can be like creatures wearing a mask,
As a helpful, cheerful, and caring person.
When deep down they are something to be feared.
For they can be as scary as a goblin or ghoul.
