My heart and mind are at war
They battle over my thoughts and feelings
My mind says one thing
My heart says another
Which one is right or wrong?
I may never know
But the battle continues
Like a never-ending storm
The two collide
Like thunder clouds
My mind keeps saying no
But my heart keeps replying yes
My mind refuses to believe
For it fears pain and heartache
But my heart refuses to give up
For it believes this time,
It won’t be broken or crushed
The battle still rages
Which one will be proven wrong?
Which one will be right?
My mind starts to hope
That my heart is right
And that my heart stays guarded
For it fears for my heart still
So it still continues to fight
In case it is right
